Touches is published by WhiteBoston LLC (dba Pitch Planner) (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Touches iPhone app and this website.
The short version
- No accounts. No sign-up, email address, password, name or age question. Every feature works without telling us who you are.
- The camera counts on your iPhone. Video, photos and body landmarks are never saved or uploaded.
- Your practice stays yours. It’s stored on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud. We can’t read it.
- Clubs are anonymous. You appear as a name like “Striker 4821”. There’s no chat, photos or free text.
- No ads, no analytics tools, no tracking and no AI processing of your information. We don’t sell or share it.
- Delete all my data in Settings clears your iPhone, your Touches data in iCloud and our server.
Camera and on-device counting
Touches uses your iPhone’s front camera while you practice. Each live frame is analyzed in the phone’s memory to find the ball and estimate body movement, then discarded.
- Touches does not take photos, record video or use the microphone.
- Body landmarks are used briefly to estimate contacts and are never stored. Touches does not use face recognition.
- Camera frames, images and body landmarks are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- The camera is only active on the practice screen. You can turn camera access off at any time in iOS Settings.
Information that stays on your iPhone
The following is stored on your device. We don’t receive it.
- Practice sessions: date, duration, drill, counts, contact estimates and tracking coverage.
- Optional ball-path diagrams: ball positions only, never images. You can turn these off in Settings.
- Progress and settings: goals, XP, streaks, personal bests and preferences.
- Your plan: your answers to the welcome questions (main goal, level, practice days and an optional reminder time). We don’t ask your age or name.
- Practice reminders: if you turn them on, your iPhone schedules them itself. Nothing about them is sent to us. Change or turn them off in Settings › Practice reminders.
You can export a copy from Settings, delete individual sessions, or use Delete all my data. Deleting the app removes the copy on your iPhone; a copy in iCloud stays until you delete it (see below).
iCloud sync
If you’re signed in to iCloud and iCloud is turned on for Touches, your practice history, progress and settings sync through Apple to your own private iCloud storage. That lets your progress follow you to a new iPhone or a reinstall.
- This data is stored by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple’s privacy policy. We can’t see, read or access it.
- You can turn iCloud off for Touches in iOS Settings. Your data then stays only on that iPhone.
- Delete all my data removes your Touches data from iCloud as well as from your iPhone.
Clubs
Clubs are optional. Our team creates each Club and gives its organizer a code to share. When you join a Club with its code, our server receives and stores:
- A hidden device key: a random key created on your iPhone that lets the app prove it’s you. It never leaves your iPhone in readable form; our server keeps only a one-way hash of it.
- A player ID and anonymous name: a random public player ID and a name like “Striker 4821”, assigned by the app. You don’t type a name.
- Your Clubs: which Clubs you’ve joined.
- Scores you choose to share: the drill, the score, the session’s duration and tracking coverage, and the date. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.
- Reports and blocks: when you report a score or block a player, we store the player or score involved and the reason you chose from a list.
Other members of a Club see your anonymous name and the scores you share there. They don’t see your device key, your other Clubs or anything else about you. Our team moderates every Club: we review reports and act on them within 24 hours, for example by removing a score or removing a player from a Club.
Clubs have no chat, typed names, photos, profile pictures or free text. Camera data, ball paths and your practice history are never sent to Clubs.
Purchases
Apple processes all payments; we never receive your name, Apple Account or payment card details. RevenueCat, our subscription provider, receives an anonymous purchase ID and your subscription status from Apple so the app can confirm your membership and restore purchases.
If you’re thinking of cancelling
From version 1.1, when you tap Manage subscription in the app, Touches first asks why you might cancel. Answering is optional. If you pick a reason from the list, such as “It costs too much”, our server receives that reason and the date. Nothing else is sent: no device key, Club name or practice data. We can’t link the answer to you, so we also can’t find or delete one person’s answer. We look at the totals to decide what to improve. If you don’t pick a reason, nothing is sent. Either way, you go straight on to Apple’s subscription page, where you can change or cancel your plan.
Email support
Support is by email only. When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, including any details you choose to add, such as your iPhone model or app version. We use it only to answer you and fix problems you report. Please don’t send passwords, payment card numbers or health information.
Because Touches has no accounts, we can’t link an email to your practice data or Club activity unless you tell us something that identifies it. We don’t add your address to any mailing list, and we don’t send marketing emails.
When an email arrives, our team gets a short alert that something is waiting. The alert doesn’t include your name, address or message.
Service providers
These companies process information for us, each only for the job listed:
- Apple: App Store downloads, purchases, subscriptions and iCloud sync.
- RevenueCat: confirming subscription status with an anonymous purchase ID.
- Cloudflare: runs our server for Clubs and reasons for cancelling (API and database) and hosts this website. Your IP address is used briefly to deliver the service, keep it secure and limit abuse. We don’t store IP addresses in our database; Cloudflare may keep short-term security logs under its own policy.
- Our email provider: receives and stores support emails so we can read and answer them.
We don’t use advertising networks, analytics or tracking tools, and we don’t send your information to AI services. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply or we would tell you about changes.
Children’s privacy
Touches is a soccer practice app for anyone. It is not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included: there are no accounts, no age question and no way to enter a name, photo or message in the app. Club names are anonymous, such as “Striker 4821”.
If someone tells us by email that they’re under 13, we reply once to answer their question and then delete their email and email address. If you’re a parent or guardian and think your child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep information
- On your iPhone and in iCloud: until you delete it, use Delete all my data or delete the app (the iCloud copy stays until you delete it there or in the app).
- Club membership and shared scores: deleted when you leave that Club or use Delete all my data. A score our team removes after a report is deleted.
- Reports: deleted 90 days after they’re resolved.
- Blocks: until you unblock the player or use Delete all my data.
- Inactive devices: if a device has no Clubs and no Club activity for 12 months, we delete its device record, including the device key hash and player ID.
- Reasons for cancelling: deleted 12 months after they’re sent.
- Support emails: deleted 12 months after the conversation ends, or sooner if you ask. Emails from someone who tells us they’re under 13 are deleted after our one reply.
- Purchase records: Apple and RevenueCat keep transaction records under their own policies. Deleting your data or the app doesn’t cancel an Apple subscription; manage it in your Apple Account settings.
- Backups and logs: our providers may keep these for a limited time for security and recovery.
Your choices and rights
You can see, export or delete your practice data in the app. In Clubs you can choose which scores to share, leave a Club, block a player or report a score. Delete all my data in Settings removes everything at once: your practice data on your iPhone, your Touches data in iCloud, and your device record, Club memberships, shared scores, reports and blocks on our server.
You can also ask us to access, correct or delete information we hold about you. Because Club data isn’t linked to a name or email address, we usually can’t find it from an email alone; we’ll explain how to make the request from the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as state privacy laws in the United States. We will respond within the time the law requires. We don’t sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), iOS data protection, a device key that our server stores only as a hash, server access controls and rate limits. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t include passwords, payment card numbers or health information in emails to us.
This website
This website has no accounts, forms, advertising or analytics, and doesn’t use tracking cookies. Cloudflare processes standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type, to serve and protect the site. Links to other sites, such as the App Store, are covered by those sites’ policies.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes. If we make a material change, we’ll tell you in the app or on this site before it takes effect.
